2. Scope of this Policy

This policy covers the matikus.com company website and enquiries sent to our company contact address. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Portuguese data-protection law apply. Our product websites provide separate notices for their own features, such as accounts and purchases. This company website has no user accounts, checkout or contact forms.

3. Website Delivery and Security

This static website is hosted on Hetzner infrastructure in Helsinki, Finland. Our web server and hosting infrastructure process connection information to deliver the pages, maintain reliable operation and investigate technical problems or abuse.

Routine access logging is disabled in this website's Nginx server. Technical error records may still contain connection information.

Connection information and technical logs may include:

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interests in delivering a reliable website, protecting it against misuse and resolving faults. Your connection information is necessary to serve the website. See also Hetzner's privacy information.

4. Cookies, Browser Storage and Fonts

We do not set cookies or use local storage, session storage, advertising networks, tracking pixels or audience-measurement tools on this company website. Links to external services do not load those services automatically.

Fonts and images are served from this website. Displaying our pages does not connect your browser to Google Fonts or load external media players. Your browser may cache these website files as part of normal page delivery.

5. Contact by E-mail

If you write to us, we process your sender address, message, any attachments and technical email metadata to receive and answer your enquiry. Hostinger provides our email mailbox and processes this correspondence as a technical service provider. Hostinger's privacy information describes its services and processing.

For contractual enquiries or steps you request before entering a contract, the basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For other enquiries, it is Article 6(1)(f): our legitimate interest in responding to correspondence and resolving questions about our business. We handle requests to exercise GDPR rights under Article 6(1)(c).

Contacting us is voluntary. We need a reply address and enough information about your question to answer it; without these we may be unable to help. Please do not send passwords, full payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information. Opening an email link does not send a message; you choose whether to send it in your email app. An enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

6. Our Products and Other Websites

Our products have their own websites and privacy notices explaining the processing involved in using them. Where Matikus operates a product, we remain responsible for our processing there; a separate domain does not change that responsibility. Product notices also identify any other parties, such as a contractual seller, and their respective roles.

When you follow links to independently operated services such as Ko-fi or LinkedIn, those providers receive the connection information needed to open their websites and apply their own privacy notices. If you contact Matikus through one of those services, we also process the information you send to answer your request, as described above.

7. International Processing

The website server is in Finland, within the European Economic Area (EEA). The location of a server does not by itself determine where every provider processes data: email delivery, support access and subprocessors may involve other countries.

Hostinger describes its processing arrangements in its Data Processing Addendum, including standard contractual clauses for transfers where applicable. The mechanism relevant to a particular transfer depends on its recipient and destination. You can contact tech@matikus.com for information about the countries and safeguards relevant to your data and to request a copy of the applicable safeguards.

8. Retention

We retain contact correspondence while needed to answer the enquiry and complete any resulting follow-up. Correspondence required to perform a contract, meet a legal recordkeeping obligation or address a specific dispute may need to be kept for that purpose after the enquiry is closed. This does not make every contact message an accounting record.

Technical records are used to investigate faults and security events. Relevant records may need to be preserved while a particular incident or legal claim is being resolved. Retention in provider systems and backups must also be taken into account when handling a deletion request. Contact us for information about the retention criteria applying to your particular correspondence or technical records.

9. Your Rights

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you may request:

You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Write to tech@matikus.com. No special form or account is required. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity. We respond without undue delay, normally within one month. If a lawful extension is needed, we explain it within that month. If some information must be retained, we explain the reason. We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you through this company website.

10. Complaints to a Supervisory Authority

You may complain to a competent data protection authority, particularly in the country of your habitual residence, workplace or the alleged infringement. In Portugal, this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD). You do not have to contact us first. CNPD complaint information and forms.

11. Updates

We update this notice when our processing or applicable requirements change. The date below identifies the current version.
